There also seem to be a lot more "invisible" budget transactions now? 3 per department is an insane increase up from -1. TBH, I originally thought the new budget values were a bug. But the economy gameplay has taken a major hit and needs serious rebalancing, in my opinion. I highly commend the developers for that. It's a shame really because I feel that the plot, character development and extra background is a major improvement in 2.0, and new events with more screentime for characters like Soll, Alphonso, Circas and Holstron. It seems like a more balanced approach would have been to keep all the original version costs the same, but having a slightly larger budget at the start to account for the new spending option events like Gasom and Gruni. Triggered Sordish Depression all 4 times which very rarely happened in my old version playthroughs. But I've had 4 new playthroughs as a Authoritarian and Democratic Socialist, Authoritarian Capitalist, and Emergency Decree Sollist. It was a manageable challenge in the previous version. It feels like you're on the backfoot the entire time with a constantly and rapidly draining budget and so few chances to raise it, with hardly any new sources of revenue in the update either. On top of extra budget penalties of events like Energy price rises.įeels like the higher starting budget doesn't nearly compensate for all these extra costs. Plus the new potential costs like Gruni and Green Bill, Gasom, Child Support bill ect. Taurus provides only the illusion of being free if workers rights bill is signed. It's not just main department budget increases that are more expensive, but other options too, like both the regional investment and the Economic Stimulus options now costing double.įor the construction projects, SSC is no longer free but still needs extra funds to finish on time, Underhall costs double. Not to mention some economic results and situations feel quite unintuitive relative to your decisions, almost random. If you try to achieve anything substantial at all you run into a huge double-digit deficit quickly. Honestly it now feels much harder overall than before, in a seriously unbalanced way whichever ideology you push.
