Not only that, but the 3AM wake-up floored Tennyson and affected his mood, energy levels during training and his productivity. The diet, Tennyson concludes, felt unrealistic - the amount of protein had "diminishing returns", for example - and Rush's arm workout got similar feedback. With just 222 push-ups to go, the finish line is in sight for Tennyson, who has to battle to keep his food down. A bowl of shrimp pasta and 1767-calorie meal from Chipotle follows Tennyson's workout and he hits 2000 total push-ups at home while cooking the next meal of an entire roast chicken, egg whites and a protein-heavy smoothie. ![]() The last super-set consists of single-arm cable curls to failure and as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) of push-ups. A tri-set of barbell curls, cross-body curls and more push-ups follows. Still only half-way through the 2222-rep challenge, Tennyson supersets incline curls with push-ups before forearm rope curls and, you guessed it, more push-ups. When reporters began to take a deeper dive into Rush's daily routine, it emerged that the 'jacked chef" grinds through 2222 push-ups every weekday and, as part of an 8000-calorie diet, eats anywhere between 12 to 24 hard-boiled eggs every day. "I don't think people understand what it is I actually do in the gym to look like I do," he said in a previous interview with Men's Health, after receiving "hundreds of emails and texts and calls" about his newfound internet fame. The direct result of a diligent workout schedule, pre-dawn wake-ups and, of course, a high-calorie diet, it takes a lot to match the output of someone like Rush. The attention, however, wasn't focused on his culinary skills or his tireless work but, instead, his hulking physique and 24-inch biceps.
